There are a number of local galleries and artists’ studios to visit in the Tamar Valley and near Bell Cottage, and many more a little further afield.
Drawn to the Valley The Drawn to the Valley Tamar Valley artists group has over 160 members, ranging from painters and printmakers to ceramicists, sculptors, calligraphers, jewellers and textile artists. Regular exhibitions and Open Studio events.
Fierek Studio Pottery – open studio at the Pottery where you can see works by Rob and Rosie Fierek.
The Lime Kiln Gallery in Calstock. Contemporary art in East Cornwall, specialising in artists from the Tamar Valley.
South West Crafts in Church Lane, Tavistock – Gallery offering works by many local artists – constantly changing unique collection.
If you are an artist or crafter yourself (Bell Cottage is a good spot for a quiet painting or crafting break!) you might also like to do a little shopping at The Art Centre in Kelly Bray – a large art supply shop, just a couple of minutes drive from the centre of Callington and popular with Tamar Valley artists. The Art Centre is tucked away behind Kelly Bray on the slopes up to Kit Hill, so it’s worth giving them a ring for directions, if you have any problems finding them!
